International Anti-Corruption Day 2011

December 9th is International Anti-Corruption Day and the Alliance is marking the day (a little early) on December 8th with a Forum@Four.
The Fourm’s focus will be on what we can do together.
It will take place in the Hardin Room on the 11th floor of the Church Center, 777 UN Plaza, New York, NY from 4:00 PM ~ 6:00 PM

“We Can Do More of That!”
A focus on the small changes that make big differences
in combating corruption in post-conflict situations &
police departments.

Speakers include:

» Mission of Morocco to the UN — Remarks Post Marrakech

» Roberto Villarreal, Chief, Development Management Branch, UN — Engagement of Citizens and civil society to enhance public sector accountability and counter corruption.

» James Albrecht, Professor of Homeland Security, Pace University, Police Chief – US DOS INL CivPol/EULEX Police – Kosovo (R) —“Dirty Water, Ailing Communities: The Problem of Post-Conflict Reconstruction Muddied by Corruption” A story of the challenges in Kosovo as lived by one policeman charged with monitoring human rights and his recommendations for the way forward.

» Maria Haberfeld, Professor and Chair, Dept. of Law, Police Science & CJA. John Jay College of Criminal Justice — The Challenges of Corruption in Police Departments.
