III. UNODC Civil Society Team side event
We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to the side event we are organising on “Addressing the Links between Corruption and Transnational Organised Crime”. The side event will be moderated by H.E. Mrs. Susan Le Jeune D’Allegeershecque, Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the United Nations Office at Vienna. Transnational organised crime is fuelled by corruption. Criminal networks use bribes to facilitate the trafficking of people, drugs, endangered species and arms. In addition to this, environmental crimes, such as illegal logging, are often enabled through illicit payments to relevant officials in order to enter into conspiracy. To illustrate these phenomena, four NGO representatives will present their perspectives on the subject, followed by a questions and answers session. The side event will take place on Wednesday, 8 October 2014 from 1.10 to 2 p.m. in conference room M6. Light refreshments will be served at the end of the event.

IV. NGO coordination meetings
A first NGO coordination meeting will take place on Monday, 6 October 2014 from 9 to 9:45 a.m. in the NGO Lounge (MOE27). A second one will follow on Wednesday, 8 October 2014 from 9:30 to 10 a.m. in the same room.

V. Social event organised by the Alliance of NGOs on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice The social event will take place on Wednesday, 8 October, starting with 7.30 p.m. in the Esterhazykeller (Haarhof 1, 1010). Instructions on how to get there are included in the attached flyer. Kindly note that only welcome drinks are sponsored. Any other orders will be at your own cost. (See attached file: Invitation_Alliance social event_Esterhazykeller, 8 October, 7.30 pm.doc) Looking forward to welcoming you to CTOC/COP7.
