When & How We Meet
Meetings were first held in New York starting in 1972. Once the UNODC was formed and moved to Vienna in 1997, then another group began to meet in Vienna as well.
Today, with the activities of the Alliance being global in nature, the NY and Vienna groups are connecting more as well as having blended meetings. As the Vienna Alliance gathers in Vienna supported by the Civil Society Team of UNODC, we keep the larger community connected via webcasts and online information.
We invite speakers, get briefings by relevant UNODC staffers and other experts or responsible parties. Meetings provide opportunities to stay abreast of developments, get the latest information about upcoming commissions, congresses, and to network and share information.
To enable as many people as possible to gather both in person and virtually, we generally meet late in the day (Vienna time). Sadly this does not work well for everyone in the time zones we service.
Working Parties meet according to their own schedules. To get more information about the Working Parties, contact the relevant Focal Point.
Don’t forget to subscribe to get email or Facebook Messages about meetings, events and information.
